Sam Worthington played the "Do you know who I am" card to police, after scuffling with a photographer Feb. 23 in Greenwich Village, according to the New York Post.
I once tried that with a cop. He gave me another ticket.
The photographer's lawyer Mark Weller said Tuesday outside Manhattan Criminal Court, "The first words out of Sam Worthington's mouth to the police -- as opposed to 'Do you know who I am' were 'Did you see the movie 'Avatar,'" he said.
Never heard of it.
Photographer Sheng Li was arrested after a tussle with Worthington and his 26-year-old girlfriend Lara Bingle.
Worthington, 37, allegedly hit Li after he supposedly tailed Bingle for four hours and allegedly kicked her in the shins, according to the criminal complaint.
What person older than 3 kicks people in the shins?
Weller said the confrontation started when Bingle attacked his client. He also said the couple injured Li's arm so severely he can no longer work.
"He's got some very serious medical injuries," said Heller, standing beside his client, who was sporting a wrist brace after a brief court appearance. "As a result he may have to go in for a very extensive and expensive operation and he may be deprived of earning a living in the future. His hand has been impaired. He has torn tendons, he has bulging discs."
Heller said Li hasn't worked since the "brutal attack" and is undergoing physical therapy twice a week.
