Actress Kate Mulgrew now says she doesn't believe the sun revolves around the earth, despite narrating an upcoming documentary advancing that very (crazy) notion.
Mulgrew -- best known for playing Capt. Kathryn Janeway in "Star Trek: Voyager" -- is the voice talking over cosmic images in "The Principle," according to the DailyMail.com. The film is partially financed by well known anti-Semitic and far-right conservative Robert Sungenis, who runs a blog called "Galileo Was Wrong."
After news broke earlier this week of the "Orange is the New Black" actress' association with the (crazy) film, she addressed her involvement on her Facebook page.
"I understand there has been some controversy about my participation in a documentary called THE PRINCIPLE," Mulgrew wrote. "Let me assure everyone that I completely agree with the eminent physicist Lawrence Krauss, who was himself misrepresented in the film, and who has written a succinct rebuttal in SLATE. I am not a geocentrist, nor am I in any way a proponent of geocentrism. More importantly, I do not subscribe to anything Robert Sungenis has written regarding science and history and, had I known of his involvement, would most certainly have avoided this documentary. I was a voice for hire, and a misinformed one, at that. I apologize for any confusion that my voice on this trailer may have caused. Kate Mulgrew."
Really. So when she said, "Everything we think we know about our universe is wrong," in the trailer, she didn't actually know what she was saying?
This story is almost as strange as the initial one.
