Bryan Ferry is one of the coolest crooners of all time, in the same league with Frank Sinatra, Sade and Sam Cooke.

He's also a brilliant lyricist and visionary band leader. His revolutionary work with Britain's Roxy Music in the 1970s helped shape so many different genres, from punk and glam-rock to disco and New Wave.

Simply put, Ferry should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Ferry performs Monday at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Show time is 8 p.m. and tickets are $45-$55, www.ticketmaster.com.
