Laura Prepon says she's not dating Tom Cruise

Who does she think she's fooling?

The "Orange Is the New Black" actress says all the rumors flying around aren't true. She is not doing the horizontal Rumba with her fellow Scientologist.

"It's just so funny that, when people don't know, they just make stuff up, (like), apparently I'm dating Tom Cruise right now," she told SheKnows. "And apparently he doesn't want me doing the show because I portray a lesbian and I'm a Scientologist. This is false. Where are they even getting this stuff? It's unbelievable to me."

They didn't mention how she was jumping up and down on a sofa as she said it.

Prepon just signed on to return to her TV show. There had been reports that she was going to quit at Cruise's request.

"With all his baggage, it doesn't help his image to be dating a woman who plays a lesbian," a source told the New York Post about Cruise's supposed problem with the prison show. "He doesn't want kinky, he wants wholesome."

I don't see what can't be wholesome about a lesbian drug dealer in prison.

Prepon said being a member of the church doesn't necessarily mean you're anti-gay.

"The thing that sucks is that there's so much false data because people are in mystery as to what Scientology is, so they just kind of make up stuff," she says, without a trace of irony. "It's kind of unfortunate because then I have to be like, 'No, that's actually not what's happening.'"

"I'm a total supporter of the LGBT, and they are an amazing fan base."

No matter what Prepon says, she and Cruise were reportedly spotted together in November having a cozy dinner in Los Angeles. The Post reported that insiders on Prepon's TV show said the pair are trying to keep their relationship secret.

British magazine Grazia reported last fall that Cruise, 51, picked up Prepon, 34, for that dinner in a vintage car and had a bottle of 1979 merlot waiting on the table when they arrived at the Manor Hotel for dinner.

"They spent three hours laughing and joking. It's clear Tom is smitten and after the date he was on cloud nine," the magazine reported. "They had their second date at the restaurant, too, meeting for Sunday brunch, and then she accompanied him a few days later to a dinner party at John (Travolta)'s home."
