He's 39, makes about $250,000 a year, and wants to spend $4,357 a month on you.

Wealthy metropolitan men are increasingly adhering to a lifestyle that includes showering their wife or significant other with, well, everything expensive, says Brandon Wade of Seekingarrangement.com, a dating site that links sugar daddies with their sugar mommas.

And this man is more likely to live in San Francisco than any other city, including Las Vegas, Boston, or even New York. He also skews younger (37) in our neck of the woods and is twice as likely (7.2 percent) to be gay as he is in any other state

But, just because he is most likely to run his business in or around the Bay Area doesn't mean this sugar daddy believes money grows on those prized redwoods in his backyard. In Wade's five years of research on the subject, he found that San Francisco sugar daddies came in at No. 29 for generosity compared to their No. 1 ranking Los Angeles counterparts. Those guys gave their sugar angels annual allowances and gifts totaling $68,520.

Still, he's not cheap. In the Bay Area, 3.51 out of every 1000 adult men are sugar daddies. A typical Bay Area sugar daddy has an average income of $249,926, is worth about $5.7 million, and spends approximately $3,765 a month on his sugar addiction.

Approximately 41.6 percent of them are married. Happily? That's a different study.
