A man and a woman were found shot to death Saturday morning in East Oakland not far from Highland Hospital. Investigators did not want to speculate on what happened pending an autopsy to be performed Monday.

The victims were identified as William Clark Jr., 33, and Leticia Thomas, 27.

The bodies were found by a relative of the man about 11 a.m. inside the apartment in the 1800 block of E. 25th Street. That portion of the street is a cul-de-sac. The relatives of the victims gathered on the street near the apartment talking and comforting each other.

The man and woman had known each other for a few years. According to police the couple has had a history of domestic disputes.
