The man was crossing Teal Drive, near Laurelwood Elementary School, at about 6:30 p.m. when a Chevrolet van going southbound hit him, according to Santa Clara police. The man was rushed to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office has identified the man as Rui Lin.

Police say the driver is 45-year-old Santa Clara woman.
Emergency responders who arrived at the scene found Lin and the child on the ground and treated both victims before taking them to a hospital.
