ANTIOCH -- Drivers planning on taking Highway 4 in the overnight hours next week may want to think again.
The road will be closed between the L Street/Contra Loma Boulevard and A Street/Lone Tree Way exits Tuesday through Friday night as contractors will install temporary supports for an overcrossing at G Street, according to a Caltrans news release.
Westbound Highway will be closed from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., while eastbound will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m., according to Caltrans.
Drivers headed westbound will be detoured north on A St and west on 18th Street to the onramp at L. Eastbound drivers will be rerouted west on Fitzuren Road and Putnam Street to Lone Tree, where they can get back on the freeway.
Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time.
