ORINDA -- Eastbound traffic on Highway 24 remains heavily snarled after a pickup truck transporting a backhoe careened out of control Friday afternoon.

John Fransen with the California Highway Patrol said the crash was reported just after 1:20 p.m. and that no one was seriously injured.

Fransen said the collision, just east of Fish Ranch Road, has blocked the far left lanes on eastbound Highway 24 and has caused traffic to be backed up just west of Highway 13.

Crews remain on scene clearing the area, and an estimated time of the number 1 and 2 lanes reopening has not been determined.
