BRENTWOOD -- Drivers headed in and out of this city overnight on Highway 4 may have to adjust their routes this week, as work continues to widen the road to four lanes.

The eastbound off-ramp at Sand Creek Road will be closed 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. overnight Tuesday and Wednesday, and the on-ramp will be closed those times overnight Tuesday through Thursday.

The closures will allow contractors to remove temporary bridge supports for the span over Sand Creek, according to a Contra Costa Transportation Authority news release.

Motorists should plan for extra commute time.
