Broadway revue to benefit Habitat for Humanity

PLEASANTON — A Broadway revue will be held to benefit Habitat for Humanity East Bay.

Coldwell Banker in Pleasanton is hosting the revue in the garden courtyard of Acc'sentials, 520 Main St., at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2.

The minimum donation is $50. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that builds homes for low-income families.

The event will include wine, hors d'oeuvres and popular tunes from several Broadway musicals.

Performers will include Romar De Claro, who has performed in many musicals, including American Musical Theatre of San Jose's "Miss Saigon;" Victoria Theodore, who is currently touring as a back-up singer/pianist for Stevie Wonder; Lorraine De Arco, who has been performing in the Filipino theatrical revue Sinag-tala since 1993; and Laura Delahaye, who has performed in musicals and dramatic performances since the age of 9.

Food and wine stroll set for downtown Livermore

LIVERMORE — Livermore Downtown Inc.'s annual "Taste of Downtown: Explore the More!" will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10.

The event is a food and wine stroll through downtown Livermore.

More than 25 Livermore Valley wines will be available to taste, as well as food samples from more than 20 downtown restaurants. There also will be live music in three locations, free horse drawn carriage rides and more.

Cost is $25 per ticket if purchased by Aug. 8. Included is a "passport" to downtown Livermore and a wine glass. Pre-sale tickets are available at Vino Cellars & Accessories, 2241 First St., and John Christopher Cellars, 25 S. Livermore Ave, Suite 103. Tickets will be available the day of the event for $30 at Lizzie Fountain, on the corner of First Street and Livermore Avenue.

Sentinels of Freedom holds golf tournament

DANVILLE — A Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation golf tournament and dinner will be held Monday, Aug. 11 at Crow Canyon Country Club. The event is being held to support severely wounded military veterans from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Funds raised will go toward scholarships that help disabled veterans to become productive and self-sufficient as they return to their civilian lives.

The cost is $250. The event will begin with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.
