PLEASANTON — Police arrested a San Ramon man Wednesday on suspicion of molesting a child for three years after the girl recently revealed the abuse to a school counselor.

Robert Turner, 22, was arrested about 2 p.m. Police said the girl, now 15, had been molested by Turner from the time she was 6 until the age of 9.

After telling a school counselor about the abuse, the counselor told a school resource officer about two weeks ago, when the investigation began.

Turner was booked at Santa Rita Jail on one count of continual sexual abuse of a child. If convicted, he may face between six and 16 years in prison, investigators said.
