DANVILLE -- Danville police are asking local businesses to be extra cautious following three downtown burglaries.

Lifestyle Chiropractic on Front Street was burglarized Oct. 15, Something Old/Something New on Railroad Avenue on Oct. 21 and Christe James Jewelers on Hartz Avenue was burglarized Sunday.

All burglaries occurred at night and the burglars broke into the stores and took cash, jewelry and computers, police said.

To help minimize the risk of becoming a victim, police recommend that businesses make sure all valuables are stored in a safe, that all doors and windows are locked and alarms are set before the last person leaves. They also suggest owners know how to use, maintain and understand their video surveillance systems and update it periodically.

Also, they ask business owners and employees to watch for any suspicious people in or around their businesses.

Danville Police ask anyone with information on the burglaries to contact Detective Ben Alldritt at 925-314-3700 or balldritt@danville.ca.gov.
