FREMONT -- Seniors who live in Fremont, Newark or Union City, and are age 65 and older, are eligible to receive a free senior Clipper card.

The special cards are issued from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Fremont Human Services Department, in City Hall, at 3300 Capitol Ave, Building B.

Applicants must complete the senior Clipper card application and present proof of age, such as a driver's license, state ID card, passport, birth certificate, alien registration/permanent resident card, matricula consular/consular ID card, SF City ID, military ID card or a medical benefit card with date of birth.

A senior Clipper card is accepted on AC Transit, BART, Caltrain, Golden Gate Transit and Ferry, SF Muni, SamTrans, San Francisco Bay Ferry, and Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority (VTA).
