UNION CITY -- Motorists traveling on southbound Interstate 880 are advised to expect delays early Thursday afternoon while a three-vehicle crash involving a tow truck is cleared from the left two lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers responded to the scene about 10:30 a.m. and found the pileup, along with debris strewed across the road, Officer James Evans said. Minor injuries were reported in the crash.
According to witnesses, the driver of a tow truck traveling northbound lost control of the large vehicle and veered into the southbound lanes, colliding with a silver Honda Accord and one other unknown vehicle.
All lanes were reopened as of 12:30 p.m., Evans said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
