DENVER -- The Warriors learned Monday that veteran guard Jarrett Jack finished third in the Sixth Man of the Year voting. He did get 14 first-place votes, but finished behind the Los Angeles Clippers' Jamal Crawford and, the winner, New York's J.R. Smith.

"It's tough to say he got robbed," guard Klay Thompson said of Jack. "I think J.R. Smith led the league in bench scoring and they got the No. 2 seed in the East. So he probably deserved it. But Jarrett Jack could've been 1B. He's been one of our most consistent players. Without him, we wouldn't have half the wins we do."

The Warriors didn't seem too concerned about Jack losing out. But they don't need Jack to be Sixth Man of the Year, just the best Sixth Man in this series. So far, Denver backup guard Andre Miller is the favorite.

"Dre got it going," Jack said. "He made shots, over outstretched hands. ... We played good defense. He just made shots. It's a reason why he's been in the league for 14 years." Jack said he's feeling good about a bounce-back game. He struggled to find his legs in Game 1 and missed 9 of 12 from the field, including several of his trusty pull-ups.

What's more, the Warriors execution went awry down the stretch with Jack as the floor general. He burned Golden State's final timeout during a trap, leaving the Warriors unable to draw up a play to respond to Miller's game-winner.

Even with that, he totaled 10 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. He said he's ready to take it up a notch in Game 2. Golden State will need that since, with forward David Lee out, the Warriors might play a lot of small ball. That means Jack will probably get even more than the 32 minutes he got in Game 1.

He said he will even take some minutes in the spot vacated by Lee.

"I'm a jack of all trades kind of guy. Power forward is definitely in my repertoire," Jack said, prompting laughs from the throng of media. "I don't know what took him so long to put me down there in the first place. ... If he calls on me to do it, I'll be ready. Fronting the post. I'mma get some jump hooks in. Get some box-out drills done. I'm dead serious. If he calls on me and that's what he calls for. I'm down there. I'm game for it."
