OAKLAND -- After sinking nine 3-pointers on Sunday night, Stephen Curry needs to make just 22 more in the Warriors' final five games to reach the 400 mark. That would be quite a feat considering he's the only man ever to reach the 300 mark.
He said Monday isn't thinking about it too much, but knows it's out there.
"I promise you if I get to 399 and I know it, I will chuck," Curry said. "That's the only thing I can guarantee."
Curry said even though he's so close to 400, he won't purposely chase it. He would hope it just happens naturally.
"When I set the record two years ago, I was way behind pace the last five games," he said. "I knew it at that point, but I think I had two games where I hit 10 and 9 or something like that. It just happens. I'm not in the game pressing to have a game like that. You want to shoot well, be aggressive and be ready for that night good things happen. That's the only way I can approach that number.
"It doesn't really mean anything in the grand scheme of things and it's not my priority," he said. But if I have a couple more good games and shoot the ball well, maybe it happens. If it doesn't, I'll still be very satisfied with the way I shot the ball in the regular season."
